Video Poker is a popular game that can be enjoyed in casinos all over the world, or in your house on your PC, using a web connection. The regulations are very straightforward and consist of the player attempting to achieve the greatest combination of cards as you can in order to win cash. In this respect it is very similar as a classic game of poker, minus the involvement with any other players. Of course, tactics employed during a physical game of poker, like tricking, will be irrelevant here.
The game of Video Poker begins when the player inserts credits (either tokens, credit slips or cash) into the machine and presses the play button. A 5 card hand will be electronically ‘distributed’ on the screen.
The Video Poker game also has hold buttons, and bettors will need to now choose which cards to keep and which to discard. For the cards the bettor wishes to keep, the ‘hold’ buttons must be pressed so that they illuminate. The player can choose to keep any amount of cards they want, from all to none.
After the gambler has chosen which cards he or she would like to keep, the player will then press ‘deal’, which will mean that any fresh cards are handed out if desired. The game is now finished, with the Electronic Poker machine analyzing the cards to see if it is the same as any of the winning hands shown on the pay out schedule.
Normally, the lowest succeeding hand on a Video Poker machine is a pair of jacks with the prize money getting larger for each better hand. A list of common winning hands starts with jacks or better, and moves on to 2 pairs, three of a kinds, straights, flushes, full houses, four of a kinds, straight flushes and last but not least royal flushes. It definitely goes without saying that the payout schedule can vary from game to game, so that discerning players are agile enough to select the most beneficial machine each and every instance.
After the initial round has finished, the player can either decide to continue on in an attempt to maximize their earnings, or they can press the ‘collect’ button to retrieve any cash that might have been won. Further, several styles of the game give the bettor a chance to double their winnings, in which situation another game is played. There are also differences among specific games, with some virtual decks including wild cards and other varying characteristics to enhance playability.
