Electronic Poker is a popular game that is able to be gambled on in casinos throughout the world, or alternatively at your house on your personal computer, through a net connection. The regulations are very straightforward and involve the player attempting to get the highest combination of cards achievable in order to acquire cash. In this respect it’s much the same as a normal game of poker, minus the interaction with any other players. Of course, methods employed during a physical game of poker, like bluffing, will be useless here.
The game of Video Poker begins when the player puts credits (whether it is tokens, tickets or money) into the machine and presses the play button. A 5 card hand will be "given out" on the screen.
The Electronic Poker game also has hold buttons, and bettors should now pick which cards to keep and which to throw away. For the cards the bettor would like to keep, the ‘hold’ buttons need to be pressed so that they light up. The player can choose to keep any number of cards they want, whether it’s all or none.
After the gambler has selected which cards she would like to keep, the player will then press ‘deal’, at which point any new cards are needed they will be dealt. The round is now completed, with the Video Poker machine analyzing the cards to see if it matches any of the winning hands shown on the payment schedule.
Normally, the lowest succeeding hand on a Video Poker machine is a pair of jacks with the prize money increasing for each better hand. A list of common winning hands begins with jacks or better, moving on to 2 pairs, three of a kinds, straights, flushes, full houses, 4 of a kinds, straight flushes and last but not least royal flushes. It goes without saying that the pay out schedule can vary from machine to machine, so that experienced gamblers are agile enough to pick the most beneficial game each and every time.
Once the first round has completed, the player can either choose to stay on and try to to increase their earnings, or press the ‘collect’ button to retrieve any cash that might have been won. Additionally, several versions of the game allow the player a chance to double their wins, in which case a further hand is played. There are also variations among individual games, with some virtual decks having wild cards and other differing elements to increase playability.
