Electronic Poker is a beloved game that can be enjoyed in casinos around the world, or alternatively at home on your home computer, using a web account. The game rules are very straightforward and involve the player attempting to get the best combination of cards possible in order to win money. On this account it is very similar as a classic game of poker, without the involvement with any other players. Of course, techniques used in a real-life game of poker, such as bluffing, will be useless here.
The game of Electronic Poker begins when the player inserts credits (either tokens, credit slips or cash) into the machine and presses the draw button. A five card hand will then be "handed out" on the video screen.
The Video Poker machine also has buttons with ‘hold’ written on them, and bettors should now pick which cards to keep and which to throw away. For the cards the enthusiast would like to retain, the ‘hold’ buttons need to be pressed so that they illuminate. The player can decide to keep any amount of cards they wish, from all to none.
After the player has selected which cards she wishes to keep, they should press ‘draw’, at which point any new cards will be given out if desired. The round is now completed, with the Electronic Poker machine analyzing the cards to see if it matches any of the winning hands shown on the payout schedule.
Generally, the minimum winning hand on a Video Poker machine is a pair of jacks with the prize money increasing for each better hand. A common list of winning hands starts with jacks or better, and moves on to two pairs, 3 of a kinds, straights, flushes, full houses, 4 of a kinds, straight flushes and finally royal flushes. It goes without saying that the pay out schedule can change from machine to machine, so that discerning bettors are agile enough to pick the most profitable game every instance.
After the first round has played out, the player can either choose to stay on and try to to maximize their earnings, or press the ‘collect’ button to cash out any money that they may have won. Additionally, several versions of the game allow the gambler an opportunity to double their winnings, in which case a further game is played. There are also differences between individual machines, with some decks of cards having wild cards and other varying elements to increase playability.
