Electronic Poker is a beloved game that can be enjoyed in casinos around the world, or alternatively at home on your home computer, using a web account. The game rules are very straightforward and involve the player attempting to get the best combination of cards possible in order to win money. On this account it is very similar as a classic game of poker, without the involvement with any other players. The game of Electronic Poker begins when the player inserts credits (either tokens, credit slips or cash) into the machine and presses the draw button. A five card hand will then be "handed out" on the video screen.

Generally, the minimum winning hand on a Video Poker machine is a pair of jacks with the prize money increasing for each better hand. A common list of winning hands starts with jacks or better, and moves on to two pairs, 3 of a kinds, straights, flushes, full houses, 4 of a kinds, straight flushes and finally royal flushes. It goes without saying that the pay out schedule can change from machine to machine, so that discerning bettors are agile enough to pick the most profitable game every instance.

After the first round has played out, the player can either choose to stay on and try to to maximize their earnings, or press the ‘collect’ button to cash out any money that they may have won. Additionally, several versions of the game allow the gambler an opportunity to double their winnings, in which case a further game is played. There are also differences between individual machines, with some decks of cards having wild cards and other varying elements to increase playability.
