Electronic Poker is a popular game that can be gambled on in casinos throughout the globe, or in your house on your home computer, through a net account. The rules are absolutely straightforward and involve the player attempting to achieve the highest combination of cards achievable in order to win money. In this respect it is much the same as a regular game of poker, without the interaction with any other players. Of course, techniques employed during a real-life game of poker, like tricking, will be irrelevant in Video Poker.
The game of Electronic Poker starts when the player puts credits (either tokens, credit slips or money) into the machine and presses the draw button. A 5 card hand will then be "given out" on the video screen.
The Video Poker machine also has hold buttons, and players should now decide which cards to hold and which to throw away. For the cards the player would like to keep, the ‘hold’ buttons must be pressed so that they light up. The player can choose to keep any number of cards they want, whether it’s all or none.
After the player has decided on which cards he would like to keep, they should press ‘deal’, which will mean that any fresh cards will be needed they will be given out. The round is now completed, with the Video Poker machine scanning the hand to see if it matches any of the winning hands printed on the payout schedule.
Generally, the lowest succeeding hand on an Electronic Poker machine is a pair of jacks with the award money getting larger for each and every better hand. A common list of winning hands begins with jacks or better, moving on to 2 pairs, three of a kinds, straights, flushes, full houses, 4 of a kinds, straight flushes and finally royal flushes. It is obvious that the payout schedule can range from machine to machine, so that skillful players are able to pick the most profitable game every instance.
After the initial round has played out, the player can either decide to continue on in an attempt to increase their earnings, or press the ‘collect’ button to cash out any money that might have been won. Further, some styles of the game allow the player an opportunity to increase their wins, in which situation a further game is played. There are also differences among individual games, with some virtual decks including wild cards and other varying characteristics to enhance playability.
