Electronic Poker is a beloved game that can be wagered on in casinos around the globe, or in your house on your personal computer, through an Internet account. The game rules are very simple and involve the player trying to achieve the greatest assemblage of cards achievable in order to acquire money. In this respect it’s very similar as a normal game of poker, without the line of contact with any other players. The game of Video Poker begins when the player puts credits (either tokens, tickets or cash) into the machine and presses the play button. A 5 card hand will then be "handed out" on the video screen.
The Video Poker game also has buttons with ‘hold’ printed on them, and bettors will need to now pick which cards to hold and which to throw away. For the cards the enthusiast would like to keep, the ‘hold’ buttons must be pressed so that they light up. The player can choose to keep any number of cards they want, whether it’s all or none.
After the gambler has decided on which cards she would like to keep, they should press ‘draw’, at which point any new cards are needed they will be handed out. The hand is now completed, with the Electronic Poker machine scanning the cards to see if it matches any of the winning hands printed on the payout schedule.
Typically, the minimum succeeding hand on an Electronic Poker machine is a pair of jacks with the prize money increasing for each better hand. A common list of winning hands starts with jacks or better, moving on to 2 pairs, three of a kinds, straights, flushes, full houses, 4 of a kinds, straight flushes and last but not least royal flushes. It should be known that the payment schedule can change from machine to machine, so that knowledgeable enthusiasts are agile enough to select the most money-making ones each time.
After the first round has finished, the player can either choose to remain on and try to to increase their earnings, or press the ‘collect’ button to retrieve any money that they may have won. Further, several styles of the game allow the player an opportunity to double their wins, in which instance a further hand is played. There are also variations among specific machines, with some decks of cards having wild cards and other varying aspects to enhance playability.
